Ms. Yoko Tanaka is a seasoned professional with over three decades of experience in finance and investment. As a Senior Advisor at Matrix Japan KK, she brings a wealth of expertise and insight to Matrix’s clients.

Ms. Tanaka took on the role of Senior Advisor at Matrix Japan KK in November 2023, where she manages the process of capital formation for overseas private market funds.  She is involved in soursing fund manager clients as well as conducting due diligence.  She has over two decades of experience in Private Equity, Infrastructure, Real Assets and Credit.

In 1988, Ms. Tanaka joined Société Générale Securities Tokyo Branch, where she devoted as Japanese Bond Trader and Controller Officer.

Ms. Tanaka's career trajectory continued as she joined Merrill Lynch Japan Securities in 1994. During her tenure, she served as the Director of Japanese Equity Sales Department and as Managing Director of the Private Equity Funds Group within the Investment Banking Division.

In 2010, Ms. Tanaka started working with Mercury Capital Advisors Asia, where she was the Head of the Japan business. During her running Mercury Advisors Japan, she was responsible for numerous successful fund raises for Mercury’s clients.

Ms. Tanaka attended Columbia University Graduate School, where she completed the MBA Program in 1994.  She also holds a JSDA Class 1 license.
